POETRY/ELVIS PRESLEY

The king of Rock and Roll
He is the dream of them all

Quiet or  bloud short yet tall
In a dream I once had
                            It was nice yet sad
                             The memories we had
                               We can remembember, a tad

                                           It was nice,  and bright
                                  With the stars and light
                                   Something soft, I heard
                                     a sound
                                      Its the sound of rock
                                        of rock and roll
                                         A sweet touch
                                           a gentle kiss
                                           Still I can
                                             remember his lips
                                            A memory of
                                                 somebody
                                                we know
                                             He is the dreams
                                                of them all

NPR Ombudsman Looks at possible book payola and more

Poets, wonder why you are never covered on NPR? Here is part of the
problem.

This is a Musea E-mail Extra. The NPR Ombudsman, due to concerns from
me and others, has finally addressed NPR conflict of interest
problems. This article talks about those in depth.

The main concerns are books and music sales and review problems. Note
my quotes in the article.

Treacle

They colorized
my Laurel and Hardy
flesh tones bleeding
into sky..

Rest in
black and white
peace
Stan and Ollie.

Leave Bogart and Bacall
alone
in grey tone splendor
shadow lined kisses

Bring back
tube filled television
testing
good, weak, poor.

Please, please
leave
A Hard Day’s Night
alone.

high

too much beer
is like a body floating in water
face down over a book of japanese prints
where the mantis preens his geometry
in the jaws of a lover’s labia
only to have a real woman
awaken him
stabbing his back with an umbrella
and a taxi fare
tomorrow you and her fallen eyelash
with have it out in the ring
but at the moment
she just wants to fondle
stiffit suck and flee

now too much beer
is like floating face up
snapping constellations
into a consciousness
construction kit

when the angel
passes descends
lets you momentarily rifle her robes
for hidden treasures

until the world shows up
demanding ransom

and i check my bed for
returnables
the masticated roses
of love
